Conference Manager for Governor’s Industrial Safety & Health Conferences
Tasha McMaster serves as the Conference Manager for the Governor’s Industrial Safety & Health Conference, a role she describes as the perfect fit for this stage of her professional career. Working on behalf of a nonprofit board in partnership with the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries and the University of Washington Department of Environmental & Occupational Health Sciences (DEOHS), Tasha coordinates conferences that bring together safety professionals, employers, workers, and industry leaders to learn, share ideas, and strengthen workplace safety across Washington State. She enjoys the variety, challenges, and opportunities each day brings, and her leadership helps create meaningful connections that support safer and healthier workplaces.
Behind every successful conference are months of planning, collaboration, and adaptability. Tasha believes the most valuable outcomes occur when people engage in conversations, ask questions, and share real-world experiences. Her approach emphasizes listening to diverse perspectives, developing thoughtful plans, remaining flexible when circumstances change, and knowing when to seek support from others. Recognizing that workplace safety is ultimately about protecting people, families, and communities, Tasha encourages a culture of continuous learning and collaboration. Her principles are simple but powerful:
