In-person classroom: Learning environment in which learners and facilitators/instructors engage, interact and communicate together at the same time and in the same place physically during the learning experience.

Online, on-demand (asynchronous): Learning environment in which the learner does not interact with the facilitators/instructors or other learners, but instead completes the learning materials on their own, at their own pace and at any point in time while the course is offered.
