2023 NAXSA Washington Trench Safety Summit

Class description

The 2023 Washington Trench Safety Summit is presented by the North American Excavation Shoring Association (NAXSA) and OSHA Region 10.

Summit speakers and presentation topics include: 
 

• Kevin Malloy (NAXSA President) - overview and future of the industry
• David Conley (WA L&I) - WA L&I’s updated shoring and trenching emphasis
• Mandi Kime (WA AGC) - mental health in construction
• Kemp Garcia (NUCA) - 811 dig law prevention / hydrovac technologies
• Mark Gunderson (Badger Daylighting) - hydrovac excavating
• John Meissner, PE (DH Charles Engineering) - engineering standards in underground construction
• Brad Chaney (Captain, South King County Fire) - trench fatality incident review and outcome
• South King County Fire and Rescue - demonstration of a mock trench rescue
• plus outside training on test gear, shoring, confined space, traffic control and safety systems

Registration and check-in is open 7 AM to 8 AM 
The Trench Summit runs from 8 AM to 4 PM

A complimentary continental breakfast and catered lunch will provided.

Preregistration is required. Walk-up registration will not be available the day of the event. Attendance for this free event is limited to 425 participants with a maximum of 15 attendees per company. If you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration so others may reserve seats.
