The 2025 Washington Trench Safety Summit is presented by the North American Excavation Shoring Association (NAXSA).

Summit speakers and presentation topics include: 
 

• Ryan Jaffe (NAXSA President) - overview and future of the industry
• Ian Seiler (WA L&I) - WA L&I’s updated shoring and trenching emphasis
• Steve Hanley (industry expert) - construction stats and OSHA fines
• Kemp Garcia (Dig Law Advocates) - 811 Dig law prevention
• Mark Gunderson (Badger Daylighting) - hydrovac excavating around utilities
• John Meissner, PE (DH Charles Engineering) - engineering standards in underground construction
• Daniel Hawkins (Ladder Captain, Renton Regional Fire Authority) - trench fatality incident review and outcome
• King County Trench Rescue Teaching Cadre - demonstration of a mock trench rescue
• plus outside training on test gear, shoring, confined space, fall protection, and safety systems

The Trench Summit runs from 8 AM to 4 PM

A complimentary continental breakfast and catered lunch will provided.

Preregistration is required. Walk-up registration will not be available the day of the event. Attendance for this free event is limited to 500 participants with a maximum of 15 attendees per company. If you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration so others may reserve seats.
