OEM Grand Rounds: Traumatic Brain Injuries

LECTURE OVERVIEW

Dr. Zumsteg will review evaluation and management of traumatic brain injury (TBI) with a focus on mild TBI/concussion. Topics will include screening and management of common symptoms/sequalae after TBI, examples of screening and physical examination tools for healthcare providers, and relevant functional prognosis. Dr. Zumsteg will review frameworks for return to physical work and cognitive work/learning activities for workers injured both on and off the job, and suggested regional and national resources to support care and recovery, especially for workers with moderate-severe TBI and those with prolonged symptoms.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

CME:  The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention designates this enduring activity for a maximum of 1.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has been authorized by the American Academy of PAs (AAPA) to award AAPA Category 1 CME credit for activities planned in accordance with AAPA CME Criteria. This activity is designated for 1.25 AAPA Category 1 CME credits. Approval is valid until {April 20, 2025}. PAs should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation

CNE:  The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention designates this activity for 1.25 nursing contact hours.

CEU:  The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is authorized by IACET to offer 0.1 CEU's for this program.

CANCELLATION POLICY: In the event you cannot attend the course, there are a few options -- you can either cancel your registration, transfer your registration to another course, or transfer your registration to another person. If you choose to cancel, we must receive your cancellation in writing with at least 1 week notice, and a refund will be issued minus a $39 cancellation fee. If you do not cancel and are a no-show for the course, your tuition fee is forfeited. If you choose to transfer your registration, please state the course you are transferring out of, and the course you are transferring into. Transferring to another course is permitted only twice per course registration. If you are unable to attend the course after the second transfer, the above cancellation policy applies.
