Program Benefits and Highlights

In Taylor's own words, "UW OSHCE has been a critical aspect of molding me into the professional I am today. Over the last 10 years I have completed 12 courses through this institute; each course has provided more information and deeper understanding of OSHA regulations. The courses are thorough, interactive, and relatable. I became an authorized 501 outreach trainer in 2014, while I was early on in my career UW DEOHS guided me as necessary even after course completion. Further I have taken continuing education courses for Fall Protection, Cranes in Construction, etc. to meet a demand of my private sector employers. In 2022 I became a dually authorized 500 and 501 outreach trainers, and finally achieved a Construction Safety and Health Specialist certificate in 2023.

Continuing Education is as important as initial education due to the ever-changing standards and practices of safety in the world. I was raised by a blue-collar entrepreneur, married a blue-collar worker, and have a son who will likely follow the same path; I work in health and safety because there is nothing more important than every worker making it home at the end of every day. Whether you are looking to take one course or pursue a professional certificate, the UW OSHCE has my highest recommendation."

Lasting Impact of Curriculum

"The institute has unmatched instructors who are eager to share their knowledge at multiple levels, in class and outside in day-to-day life. I have walked away from every course with more useful content, examples, and templates than I ever did in a traditional university course. You can tell this is more than a career to the instructors, it's a passion for people. Every instructor I have had the privilege of interacting with has inspired me in ways that give me the drive to help spread the importance of safety in the workplace. They have all challenged me to dig deeper and helped build my professional confidence. I owe a huge thanks to Instructor Harvey for inspiring and encouraging me through the years, this led to the opening of my consulting/training business in Idaho this year. Along with the instructors comes an elite administrative team who are quick to respond to general inquiries, offer clarification on courses offered, and are some of the kindest people I have had the pleasure of working with."
