The National Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries Summary, 2022 was issued last week! According to the latest data:

  • There were 5,486 fatal work injuries recorded in the United States in 2022, marking a 5.7% increase from the previous year.
  • The fatal work injury rate rose to 3.7 fatalities per 100,000 full-time equivalent (FTE) workers in 2022, up from 3.6 per 100,000 FTE in 2021.

Katia Costa-Black, MS, PhD

Manager for Education, Training and Partnerships, Oregon Institute of Occupational Health Sciences, Oregon Health & Science University.

Dr. Katia Costa-Black is set to lead the OSHA #2255 Principles of Ergonomics course, focusing on musculoskeletal and nerve disorders in the workplace, in March and June 2024.

Concurrently, she will instruct the Total Worker Health® course, a 26-hour program combining self-paced learning with live sessions, on February and September 2024.
