Instructor Highlight: Molly Breysse Cox

Molly Breysse Cox’s career exemplifies a strong commitment to leadership and workplace well-being. We are proud to have her as an educator and mentor. With over 25 years of experience in transformational change, Molly shapes the next generation of professionals by combining her extensive knowledge with practical expertise. This month, we are excited to highlight Molly’s dedication to fostering positive change and her lasting impact on creating healthier, more effective workplaces!

Inspiration to Teach Health and Safety

When asked what inspires her to teach health and safety, Molly replied:

"Growing up in a family of occupational health professionals dinner table discussion ran the gambit of topics from air and noise pollution, black lung disease, asbestos, industrial accidents, and carcinogens. I am dedicated to my family legacy by developing leaders, managers, and workers who foster physical and psychological well-being in the workplace. This involves teaching leading, learning, and changing and their part in fostering positive workplace health and safety cultures. 

Professional Journey

Dr. Breysse Cox has over 25 years in transformational change technology projects with Fortune 500 companies, nonprofits, and health care. This includes leadership positions in IT, Operations, Customer Service, Product Management, and Marketing. Most recently she worked for the UW Facilities organization leading Business Intelligence initiatives to preserve the UW property and space legacies. Consistently recognized for excellence, she was chosen in 2008 as the recipient of Women in Technology International’s Leadership Award for leadership in support of women in IT.

Academic and Current Role

Molly is a U.W. alumni and has worked for over 10 years at the U.W., including as Faculty at the Foster School of Business, Center for Leadership and Strategic Thinking (CLST). Her work focuses on fostering safety and psychological well-being in education and the workplace. Molly has expertise in leadership and team development and coaching, motivation, trust, and change using positive science and inclusive practices for accelerating positive change.
