LATEST NEWS

In observance of Public Health Week, we commend the recent ban on chrysotile asbestos in the US, as announced by the EPA. This landmark rule represents a crucial step forward in protecting public and occupational health.

"As former chair of the American Public Health Association(APHA) Occupational Health and Safety section, I proudly support this action, reflecting the advocacy efforts of our members. Our section has diligently provided legislators and decision-makers with crucial information about the health risks posed by asbestos exposure, along with safer alternatives. Together, we continue to prioritize public health and advocate for positive change."

- Nancy Simcox, Director of the UW Occupational Safety & Health Continuing Education programs.
