Student Highlights: Chloe Xiong & Muhammad H Zaidi
|
Meet two student workers who play an important role on the OSHCE team. Through their work they’re gaining hands-on experience contributing to creating and sustaining safe, healthy workplaces. Meet Chloe and Muhammad.
|
Chloe is a graduate student at the UW, working on the marketing team to get the word out about health and safety in the workplace. Her interest in digital communication and public-facing education led her to OSHCE. She is committed to work that helps workers access important training and information. "I'm so happy to be part of this connected community and work with like-minded peers." she said.
|
Muhammad is a UX and website design lead focused on improving the usability, clarity, and overall experience of the Occupational Health & Safety course website. His work centers on identifying user pain points, implementing high-impact, low-effort improvements, and designing clearer pathways. He contributes by making the site easier to navigate, more accessible, and more effective for professionals pursuing continuing education.

NEW! Foundations of Trust in the Workplace

Course 2 - Assessment Tools for Safer Chemical Decisions for Sustainable Chemistry

OSHA #7505 Introduction to Incident (Accident) Investigation

This course covers an introduction to basic incident investigation procedures and describes analysis techniques. Course topics include reasons for conducting incident investigations, employer responsibilities related to workplace incident investigations, and a four-step incident investigation procedure. The target audience is the employer, manager, employee or employee representative who is involved in conducting incident and/or near-miss or close call investigations.

Accelerating Leadership Development

OEM Grand Rounds: The Future of Environmental and Occupational Medicine

Speakers will address important topics including training and development of future OEM practitioners, current OEM workforce landscape, and federal and state policy changes such as recent NIOSH cuts. OSHA #2055 Cranes in Construction

This course covers the requirements for operation of cranes in the construction industry using the OSHA construction Cranes and Derricks Standard as a guide. Course topics include hazards associated with crane assembly and disassembly, types of cranes, lifting concepts, rigging and wire rope, signaling, employee qualifications and training, and maintenance, repair, and inspection requirements. Students will participate in workshops to reinforce concepts of safe crane operation.
