Gordon is a fire officer with 30 years of experience in fast-paced emergency response environments and is designated as the Health and Safety Officer for Alaska’s largest fire department. In his revised HSO role, he manages all OSHA-related programs.

Transformational Leadership Development

This course focuses on three positive styles of leading others and the four components of each style. This course provides the opportunity to explore your thinking, feelings, and actions related to the different leadership capabilities. Past participants have shared that understanding the role of these three styles of leading in fostering health and safety outcomes in the workplace has significantly contributed to increasing their effectiveness in leading positive change. Participants and their invited colleagues will take a multi-rater survey to discover their strengths and opportunities for development into a more effective leader in operating in health and safety related functions and contexts.

This winter, the Washington State Department of Ecology is hosting a Safer Building Materials Focus Group for workers in the building industry, including construction workers, contractors, building inspectors, installers/finishers, and painters. Your experience matters! Join us to share insights about the building products you use every day, such as paints, adhesives, caulks, and insulation.
