Virtual Reality Training Tools
The next generation of learners will engage in experiential learning throughout their educational journey, beginning in the classroom, and extending to their mobile devices and to on-site activities. The use of Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) simulators for safety training and health curricula is increasing and is currently available for workers in fire safety, mining, aviation, construction, healthcare and other sectors. In VR, the user is immersed into believable virtual worlds where they learn and experience realistic tasks and can make decisions, including mistakes, without the actual risks of injury or harm - in other words, real-world outcomes without real-world consequences. VR training includes a three- dimensional, computer generated environment which can be explored and interacted with by a person. AR is defined as a place where virtual data is dynamically overlaid within a real-world setting. This blended environment of real and virtual worlds augments the users’ interactions and engagements.
